Herb co-founded the Wine Colleagues in 2005 with Mike Jellison and John Gillespie. Prior to that, he joined the Robert Mondavi Winery in 1981.  He served the family as the Public Relations Manager, then Vice President of Public Affairs and Managing Director of Opus One and served on the Opus board of directors.  He also was an officer of the Robert Mondavi Corp. during his tenure.
Upon leaving RMW in 2005, Herb also joined the public advocacy firm, Government Strategies, Inc. in Sacramento as a partner.  At GSI, he directs the wine industry and agriculture advocacy and consulting section.
Traveling extensively, Herb has sat on the boards of international, national and state wine and agriculture trade associations, including WineAmerica, Family Winemakers of California, the American Vineyard Foundation, and the International Federation of Wine and Spirits companies.  He currently is board member of the Winegrowers of Napa County and the Pearce’s Disease/ Glassy-winged Sharpshooter statewide program, appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture.
Herb uses these experiences to advise our clients on strategies of government, community and international relations, as well as general business matters.
He has made Saint Helena his home since 1979.
